  • No bad for a third owner - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

I purchased this car from private owner at tax time for $900. Previous owner had already replaced the water pump before I got it, but had had no problems with the car other than that. (the key to it is DO NOT drive the car while it is overheating, thats why most people had problems with the Quad 4 motor) Since I have owned it, I have put a starter on it ($85 from auto zone lifetime warranty), tune up with air filter(less than $20), Front brake pads ($20), replaced all the speakers to match after market Pioneer XM/CD deck ($75 from Walmart for Rockford Fosgate) Car is not perfect BUT it gets from point A to point B quickly, with good handling, and get 32 MPG doing it.

  • Nice car at first, but just wait - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

I really enjoyed this car when I bought it used in 98. It is nice looking and comfortable. It drove very nicely with the V6 engine. But within the past several years, I have replaced window motors, door locks, alternator, intake gasket, timing belt, fuel injectors, and several other small things. I just had the transmission repaired! This car is a money pit!

  • Great Car - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

I have had this car, with the 3.1 V6 engine, for over 6 years. It has been a great car. Besides the normal maintenance, it has never been in the shop. Very reliable car. I am currently looking to get a newer Grand Am, even though the one I have is still running great at 101,000 miles. I am just wanting to upgrade to the GT model. Highly recommended.

  • Good all around car - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

Great reliable car. Had problems with power steering pressure line. Dash squeaks and rattles. Shifting cable snap rings and rubber gromets fell off. Front seats could use some lumbar support. Noise in steering unit. Exterior chrome strips fading. Floor mats could be more dependable. Engine very dependable and powerful for a four cylinder w/ 5-speed. Nice gauges and dash design. Good car!

  • Age equals money pit - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

I am a GM fan. I purchased this car with 95,000 well maintained miles. On the positive, engine started every time in sub-zero weather. Otherwise, I never owned a car that has cost me so much in repairs. I have replaced, A/C compressor due to bad clutch, but now evaporator leaks. Steering rack blew a seal, intake maniford gasket replaced, heater core replaced, 2 motor mounts replaced, exhaust system, power window motor and recently, replacement of belt tensioner of which pulley froze. All these repairs within 15,000 miles and a year and a half. Ive owned many GM vehicles and expect maintainence repairs, but will never buy or recommend another Grand Am.

  • Whats up with the radiator - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM
    By -

When we got this car it had 300,000 miles on it. It had set under a tarp in a garage for the past 3 years. Within a month I had to replace two tires. Within two months I had to put in the shop for almost two weeks for radiator problems. Major overheating especially in slow traffic and while idling. Shop changed three or four things and cleaned out radiator. Its still overeheating. Also we have water coming into the car from under the dash especially when raining. Windshield was replaced; didnt help. Now we;ve lost two window motors. It gets me from A to B and gas mileage is great but Ill never have another. Its not worth the $2200.00 I have to pay.

This is the most reliable, safe, fun, and good looking car I have ever owned. It is now almost 9 years old and it is absolutly perfect condition, a few minor scratches here and there, but,Ihave not had ANY engine problems or difficulties what so ever! This car, it looks good, great styling on the interior, great performance, hauls ass off the line,it sounds fantasic, there are a lot of poeple that dis on grand ams but they have no goddamn idea what they;re talking about at all, they obviously have never drivin these cars, if you are lookin to buy a grand am, just do it, you will not be dissapointed with your purchase, it really is driving excitment!

  • Comfortable and Reliable Grand Am - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

Bought as a program car, this has been a very effotless car to own. My total repair bills in 8 years totals less than 2500 excluding tires/brakes and that does include a new transmission 3 years ago. Comfortable and reliable I hate to face the fact that its time to sell!

  • Loved it! Sporty and Fast! - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

Very sporty, fast (v6) and comfortable. Sport interior package and v6 engine is a must.
